Have you ever dreamed of a tree house in a Jungle? With a hot tub, a pool full of lilly pads, a spa where you can hear the birds, and delicious cuisine? The Four Seasons Bali at Sayan is unique on so many ways, and it begins with the entry to the resort. Upon arrival, you come down a stone paved road and pull up to the drop off point where you really cannot see much of anything beside a beautiful bridge that seems to vanish over a lily pond and into the abyss of the jungle
Once you walk across the bridge, a staircase appears where you descend into the heart of the hotel – a two story open air lobby, where there is a spacious lounge and an infinity bar. The air is crisp, and warm – but not hot. In the Jungle the environment is always perfect, on cooler days the sun shines to warm you up and on hot days clouds form in the afternoon to prevent it from getting too hot.
Below the main entry are two more levels with an identical view featuring three open air infity hot tubs that are different temperatures, a full service fitness facility, the main restaurant Ayung Terrace (where breakfast is a MUST each day) and stairs down to the active rice fields within the resort.
The accommodations at the property are split between spacious rooms connected to the main building and a series of private villas with varying views throughout the resort. The villas are absolutely worth it! No villa is too far from any activity, and if you aren’t in the mood to walk or have extra luggage a buggy (golf cart) will come pick you up! Each villa is situated in a way that you cannot see or hear any of the resort activity or neighbors once you are settled into your private oasis. With a private plunge pool, deep soak tub and a walk in closet big enough for a 4 week stay the intricacies of wood work top of the ornate detail of your new home.
While this property is located in the heart of the culture capital of Bali, there is so much to offer within the resort so be sure to plan to spend a day our two enjoying all the amenities that include the pool, spa and private dining options. For any special occasion, make sure you take advantage of the private rooftop dinner where the entire lily pond deck is reserved for you and your special someone – dinner for two. For a special spa experience, request your treatment in the spa pavilion – an open air villa surrounded by a Lillie pond open to the sound of nature. A great way to immerse yourself in the culture is to watch traditional Balinese dancing is also performed twice a week in the lobby right next to the main lobby bar.
Roads in Bali are very windy, full of scooters and certainly not what you might be use to with our big 12 lane highways in large North American cities. The Four Seasons will provide you with a private driver for the day to get around the island, providing you with fresh water, cold towels and even wi-fi if you need it! They have recommended tours, and will also build one custom to your wants and desires.
With the close proximity to UBUD – they have shuttles that run to and from the resort in the morning and afternoon which are complimentary. Be sure to stop in UBUD for at least and afternoon, but spend 2 days if you can. With the monkey forest, rice field hikes and abundance of shopping there is plenty to do.
The Four Seasons at Sayan is an incredible tree hut in a Jungle. One of Ubud’s first luxury properties it still echos beauty, culture and paradise. A must visit if you are in the area.
